    Stimulus check worth $1,000 will be sent this week. Who are the beneficiaries?

    Starting September 15, residents eligible for a guaranteed income program in Los Angeles will begin receiving their monthly payment of $1,000 dollars, this in order to provide them with financial aid.

    About 1,200 people were selected to receive monthly payments for approximately two to three years through the Breathe pilot program, which is aimed at former foster youth of the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services.

    According to the Los Angeles County Strength-Based Community Change agency, payments will be issued every 15th of each month. The first registrations for the program were made on March 31, 2022 and for the classification of the first 1,000 recipients and the second, last June 20, closing on July 3 of this year, where the last 200 beneficiaries were selected.

    All residents selected for the Breathe guaranteed income program are between the ages of 21 and 23, which will receive their payments until the end of August 2025.

    According to the program’s website, this guaranteed income financial aid seeks to provide benefits in order to “relieve stress and broaden the horizons of the beneficiaries, giving them time to complete deferred education and job trainingas well as plans to fully participate in their communities,” he said.
