For this month of June it is expected that some 1,500 full-time public sector workers in the city of Rochester, New York receive a bonus of up to $2,000 dollars as part of a single, direct payment.
According to Mayor Malik Evans “this is a meaningful and tangible way we can make work for the City of Rochester be an even more attractive proposition in an increasingly competitive job market,” he said in a press release.
This news will have a positive impact on Rochester employees, but they won’t be the only ones to receive this stimulus check; others 600 part-time workers will be rewarded with $1,000 dollarsEvans stated.
Financial aid is driven by a budget of approximately $4 million. “This payment is recognition that rewards city employees for their efficiency, dedication, and commitment to delivering the essential programs, services, and events that make Rochester a great place to live, work, and play,” the mayor said.
Payments will be sent to all Rochester municipal government employees, except sworn or temporary employees, interns, and elected officials. “One of the core values of my administration is care and concern for public employees,” Evans said.
