Pizza Hut thought of all its customers who find it too much to order a whole pizza, so they decided include in your menu an original version of your individual slices called Pizza Hut Melts.
The price is $6.99 per slice, but it’s not a regular slice. This new option consists of two slices of their Thin N’ Crispy pizza folded together, filled with toppings and cheese, and baked to “perfection” until melted, creating a calzone-like meal.
“Unlike most pizza platters, Melts were designed for a one-person pizza party, giving customers the option of enjoy the delicious taste of pizza without having to order a whole onewhenever and wherever they want,” Pizza Hut said in a press release.
This option is now available to order at all locations in the United States and just in time to celebrate the month of pizza.
The slices come in four different versionsincluding: Pepperoni Lover’s served with Marinara Sauce, Buffalo Chicken served with Buffalo and Ranch Sauce, Chicken, Bacon, Parmesan served with Ranch Sauce and Meat Lover’s served with Marinara Sauce.
In addition, Pizza Hut is rewarding select customers online with $100 if they sign a Merger Disclosure Agreementagreeing that they will not share images of the new Pizza Hut Melts on their social media channels.
The reason is because, they say, Melts are not for sharing. With this initiative, the company seeks to promote and enhance consumers’ desire to enjoy a pizza individually.
“We like to say: Pizza is for us, Melts are for me because sometimes you want the delicious taste of pizza for yourself. without having to order and share an entire pizzasaid Lindsay Morgan, director of marketing for Pizza Hut.
“With Melts, there’s now a new way to get the bold flavors of your favorite pizza just for you, whenever and wherever you want,” he said.
Pizza Hut experimented with selling individual slices in 2014. However, the concept failed to spread beyond the testing they did in just a few places.
The chain has been more successful by add different toppings and pizza crusts.
Pizza is a competitive space, with customers often changing their preferences based on specials and new menu items. Pizza Hut’s sales at its global restaurants fell 3% in the most recent quarter compared to the previous year.
Pizza Hut is owned by Yum Brands, which also controls Taco Bell and KFC.
