A new voluntary recall is taking place in the United States, this time by the presence of plastics in the dough for cooking cookies with Nestle brand chocolate chips.
The company announced the voluntary recall of Nestle Toll House Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with Fudge Filling after receiving several calls from consumers
Through a statement, Nestle explained that the product it withdraws from the market is contaminated with small pieces of white plastic.
According to the company, the products affected by plastic occurred between June and September 2022 and were distributed in retail stores in the United States and Puerto Rico.
According to the brand, no other product from the Nestle Toll House line, with the exception of the one previously mentioned, was contaminated, so its consumption is safe.
“This recall does not affect any other Nestle Toll House products.including other Nestle Toll House Stuffed cookie dough products and Nestle Toll House refrigerated cookie dough products,” the company detailed in the recall notice.
Nestle added that so far, none of the reports of affected consumers have been made. claims for illnesses or injuries caused by the presence of plastics in the cookie dough.
“We immediately took precautionary action after a small number of consumers contacted Nestle USA about this issue,” the company explained in a statement.
In the recall notice, the company asked consumers to they just need to return it to the retail store where it was purchasedfor a replacement or a refund for the money they paid.
Nestle reminded consumers who bought the contaminated product and that for no reason cook it and put at your disposal the number (800) 681-1676 where you can ask for help with the return process.
The company added that they are working in conjunction with the Food and Drug Administration as part of the recall process and “fully cooperating with them.”
“The quality, safety and integrity of our products remain our number one priority.. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action represents to both our consumers and retail customers.”
